6th grade students continue with foundations of math while adhering to Common Core standards. They will be introduced to statistics and probability; exponents and integers; ratios and proportional reasoning; factoring, and an introduction to algebraic equations.

Students will continue to build on executive thinking skills and time management as more emphasis is given to homework. Students are encouraged to work both autonomously and in small group setting for problem solving.

Experiential learning takes a greater importance in 6th grade math as students engage in a variety of projects and assignments by getting out of the classroom and into more real-world settings. They will continue to study the history of math and more emphasis is given to logical thinking and complex math puzzles.
