Math 1
Math 1 is for most Wildwood 5th graders and 6th graders. The goal of Math 1 is for students to develop a healthy curiosity for math and the ability to work through difficult problems without giving into frustration and anxiety. Executive management skills play a large part in Math 1 by teaching students how to take proper notes, work through problems in a logical manner, time management, double-checking work, and showing work.
Common Core standards are adhered to in Math 1.
Subjects studied will include Integers, Decimals, Fractions, decimal place, rounding, numbers with words, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, factoring, simplifying fractions, conversions, proportions, ratios, plotting points, beginning statistics, visualizing data, basic probability, and more.
Assessments of student's progress are made through daily assignments, bi-weekly quizzes, and comprehensive tests.
