It was a wonderful week off for our families and we hope for yours as well but we are very excited to get back to Wildwood and back to learning and exploring with your children. We have lots in store for the next four weeks!
We will kick-off our return to school with yoga on Monday morning. Students should arrive dressed to move and stretch for the first hour of the day. They should also arrive prepared to change into their full uniform for the remainder of the academic day.
Beginning Tuesday and Thursday of this week we will be offering our new "run/walk club". Students who are interested in participating will need to arrive ready to run by 8:00AM sharp. We encourage all students to participate even those who don't necessarily do a lot of physical activity. Starting the day with a run can improve focus and cognitive ability. **For those who don't wish to participate, there will still be movement as "normal" on Tuesday and Thursday mornings starting at 8:25. Obviously, students should be dressed appropriately and prepared to change into their uniforms after our run/walk.
Some have expressed the possibility of carpooling to Mt. Hood Meadows one day each week after school. We are looking for one parent to spearhead this activity, and other parents who might wish to drive and participate. If this is something you can help with, please email Mrs. G. at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The weather seems to have arrived with the holidays. Please remember that we plan to get outside, regardless of rain or snow. Students need a rain jacket and appropriate footwear (boots are ideal) every day.
We are headed back to Bright Beginnings this week and every Tuesday hereafter. Classes alternate each week. Mrs. G.'s class will walk up to the school on 11/27.
We are also excited to partner with Fish Food Bank and the Hood River Valley Senior Center as we continue our efforts to give back to our community. Students will spend an hour at each location over the next two Fridays, 11/30 and 12/7.
