    Job Description
    Wildwood Academy is a small, nature-based school seeking a part-time teacher/education assistant with a passion for outdoor education, youth development, and social-emotional learning (SEL). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with middle school students, values experiential learning, and thrives in a collaborative, community-centered environment.

    Responsibilities

    - Serve as a second teacher on Adventure Mondays, supporting outdoor education, field trips, and hands-on experiential learning.

    - Plan and teach Thursday afternoon Sportsmanship classes, focusing on teamwork, leadership, communication, and physical activity.

    - Plan and facilitate Friday afternoon programming centered on:

    - Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)

    - Community-based learning opportunities

    - Team-building and cooperative activities

    - Support student supervision and safety during on-campus and off-campus programming.

    - Assist with student transportation/shuttles as needed.

    Qualifications

    - Passion for education, outdoor learning, and working with youth.

    - Experience teaching or working with middle school–aged students.

    - Background or strong interest in SEL, physical education, sportsmanship, outdoor education, youth mentoring, or experiential learning.

    - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a small teaching team.

    - Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

    Wildwood Academy is a small, nature-based school dedicated to whole-child education through project-based learning, outdoor experiences, social-emotional development, and meaningful relationships. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Full-Time Lead Teacher for our 3rd–5th grade program.

    This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment, values experiential and inquiry-driven learning, and is excited to help shape a growing elementary program.

    Position Details

    Position Type: Full-Time

    Grade Levels: 3rd–5th (multi-age classroom)

    Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, school hours

    Key Responsibilities

    - Serve as the Lead Teacher for a multi-age 3rd–5th grade classroom.

    - Collaborate with the Academic Lead to design and implement a project-based, inquiry-driven curriculum aligned with academic standards.

    - Integrate outdoor learning, hands-on experiences, and real-world connections into instruction.

    - Foster a classroom culture rooted in belonging, curiosity, responsibility, and collaboration.

    - Support students’ academic growth, social-emotional development, and executive functioning skills.

    - Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

    - Communicate clearly and consistently with families.

    - Participate in school-wide programming, field experiences, and community events.

    Qualifications

    - Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.

    - Elementary teaching experience (grades 3–5 preferred).

    - Passion for student-centered, experiential, and project-based learning.

    - Comfort teaching outdoors and facilitating hands-on experiences.

    - Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.

    - Ability to collaborate in a small-school environment.

    - Growth mindset, flexibility, and enthusiasm.

    - Teaching credential preferred but not required.

    Wildwood Academy anticipates a part-time opening for the 2026–2027 school year for a Float Teaching Assistant supporting Adventure Mondays, enrichment classes (Music, Theatre, Art), and occasional student transportation/shuttles.

    This role is ideal for educators, artists, musicians, and youth mentors who enjoy working in a flexible, community-centered, nature-based school environment.

    Individuals with specialized skills may be considered for partial tuition trade arrangements, depending on role fit and school needs.
