Wallowas and Hells Canyon Trip
This trip is optional and not included in tuition.
Dates: August 7th - August 11th.
Students and Parents: Wildwood students and parents can attend this trip. 5th and 6th graders must have a parent attend.
Maximum # of attendees: 42
Equipment: Camping and backpacking equipment will be required (complete list available upon request).
Cost: $1200.00 per person. A $250.00 deposit is required to reserve a spot.
Location: Joseph, Oregon.

Fulfill your sense for adventure on this flexible, family oriented trip. With activities for students and families alike throughout the week, you can do it all or pick and chose activities as you like. Expect to spend your days hiking, paddling, swimming, pedaling, around the Wallow Mountains and Joseph,Oregon. With a jet boat ride in Hells Canyon, the striking scenery of eastern Oregon won't be the only thrill on this trip to remember.
An academic component will ensure your student learns about the science, history, and topography of the region as well as utilizing the many wilderness first aid and survival skills they've learned at Wildwood. There will also be a very artistic component to this trip that will allow kids to explore their creative side by painting, journal writing, writing, and sketching in workshops.
Options to send your student with Wildwood or come on the trip as a whole family, mean you can chose what works best in the context of your summer.
Monday, August 7th: Depart Wildwood at 8am and drive vans to Joseph, Oregon. Stay at the Wallowa State Park Camp Ground. Art activities, swimming, kayaking.
Tuesday, August 8th: Hike and overnight camp in Eagle Cap Wilderness.
Wednesday, August 9th: Return to base camp. Art activities and free time. Kayaking and paddle boarding.
Thursday, August 10th: Hells Canyon jet boat tour.
Friday, August 11th: Depart for Wildwood at 8am.
