Wildwood Math Program
Our math program meets, and exceeds, all Common Core standards and will both prepare students for high school level math and teach advanced problem solving skills.

Common core standards are available here.

With a teacher to student ratio of 6 to 1 (and sometimes less), every Wildwood student receives a significant amount of individual instruction.

We utilize Open Up Resources for our curriculum and Desmos for an online learning platform.

Our math program offers 3 math classes. Math 1 is typically geared to students in 5th and 6th grades with emphasis on foundational math concepts. Math 2 focuses on all pre-algebra content. Math 3 has students who are ready for higher levels of math including algebra and geometry.
At a minimum, our math program prepares every 8th grader leaving our program to enter algebra 1 in high school. However, the majority of our students will complete all of algebra 1 by the end of 8th grade. Our small class sizes means every student receives a significant amount of individual instruction and guidance. We have daily work assignments, bi-weekly quizzes, and trimester projects to assess student proficiency and a more traditional percentage grading criteria.

All math classes with have both coursework and applications in real-life settings with experiential learning. It is imperative that our math program include real world problem solving and projects.
